Orlando to Panama City Beach, Florida - Day 15
Today was the longest drive where we travelled 8+h. First stop was Mt Dora. This was a cosy village where we ate breakfast and walked around for a while. We stumbled over a beef jerky/spicy sauce place where we had a beef jerky tasting. We also met an American couple who tried the jerky with us. The guy even tried the spiciest option with Tobias, and it was SPICY. They cried and coughed and finally got milk from the lady in the store 😅
Next stop was The Devils' Den, which is a well-known spring. When we came there, they told us it cost $40 each, which we didn't want to pay, so we continued to Manatee Spring Park, which was ~40 minutes away. That only cost $6 for the whole car, so we went in. We sadly missed the manatees because they come in the morning, and we were there around lunchtime. But we snorkelled in the cold water for a while and took a stroll in the park before we continued our drive.
After a long drive and some stops at gas stations, we arrived in Apalachicola. This village had a really old southern charm. We ate dinner and walked around in the village. We continued our way to Panama City Beach for about 1.5h more. Because we left one time zone, the trip suddenly was "1h shorter" and we arrived 1h earlier than planned 😊
